What will MS JumpStart look like?

Morgan Stanley JumpStart Scholars in Finance is an immersive program designed for rising high school seniors to deepen their understanding of finance, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, wealth building, career development, and leadership created and taught by Morgan Stanley associates.

The program will be held virtually from November 2022 to April 2023, with costs covered by Morgan Stanley and will culminate with a capstone project competition in which students will apply the skills they have learned to a real world case study.

Who/What is Morgan Stanley?

Morgan Stanley is an internationally renowned investment bank and financial services company. Their 2020 total revenue was approximately 50 billion dollars and total assets numbered around 1 trillion dollars. Morgan Stanley is without a doubt one of the largest, most competitive, and most sought after firms on Wall Street in existence today.

What if I'm not a senior in high school?

Synced is currently looking for (and has already found some) opportunities that are not limited to just seniors. JumpStart is only our first application, and we will have many more to come. Signing up now means that you will be the FIRST to receive those opportunities.

When does the application open?

The application will open in late summer (e.g. August 2022). If you filled out the form above, you will be emailed when the application is live.

Applications will be reviewed through a rolling process, making it advantageous to submit your application as soon as possible.

Why should I apply to Morgan Stanley JumpStart?

Meeting various Morgan Stanley employees and fellow students, JumpStart Scholars will have the rare opportunity to develop their professional network while still in high school. Participants will also walk away with a better understanding of both the financial industry and Morgan Stanley.

Are international students able to apply to JumpStart?

We are not accepting international students at this time.

What will I learn?

Lecture topics may include: Finance 101, Morgan Stanley 101, Emotional Intelligence, College and Career Readiness, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Networking in the Age of Technology, and Navigating the Corporate Culture.

JumpStart Scholars will also participate in a capstone competition, applying the skills learned throughout the lectures to a real-world case study for a reward.

What are the dates of the program?

Lessons will be taught every other week, with the final weeks having heavier involvement due to a final capstone project. Times will be accommodating of school times across America.

The program will start November 2022 and end April 2023.

What is Synced's involvement with JumpStart?

Synced is hosting the applications and sending them to Morgan Stanley for review. The content is taught purely by Morgan Stanley.

How often will we meet?

Virtual sessions will be hosted bi-weekly by Morgan Stanley associates. Times will be accommodating of school times across America.

How selective is the program?

The fall 2021 cohort was limited to 160 students nationally. Many multiples of this number to applied.

 

Applications will be viewed on a rolling basis.

What is the cost of the program?

Tuition to participate in this program is expected to be free.

Where will the program take place?
JumpStart will be hosted virtually. Participants who have not attended a previous LEAD program must attend a virtual 2-week immersion and complete a mini capstone as well. More information will be provided upon acceptance.
